Wow! I've been so busy lately, but this trip has been amazing. Last weekend we took a trip to Rome and it was beautiful. Rome is much larger than Florence, and very different! The monuments in Rome were some of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Saint Peter's Cathedral in Vatican City was absolutely unreal! Valerie and I climbed all the way to the top of the dome, it took a while to climb over 300 stairs, but the end result was more than worth it! I have so many pictures that I am going to post as soon as I get time. Today we went to the Pitti Palace which was almost overwhelming! It is an old palace that the famous Medici family once lived in, this amazing place is now a museum. Every inch of this palace was filled with artwork, even the ceilings! Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take pictures, but it was pretty cool to see many works in person that I've studied in art history class. Tomorrow we are going to an outdoor market, hopefully the weather will be better than today!
